Grand Master Troy Trudeau – 9th Degree

Grand Master  Troy Trudeau began his martial arts training at the age of 10 years old.  At the age of 11, GM Troy was formally entered into a regular martial arts class. And at the age of 13, GM Troy received his 1st Degree Black Belt in Wa Do Ryu Karate. He continued training in Wa Do Ryu for 5 years and received his 2nd Degree Black Belt. At this time GM Troy was competing in open and closed tournament circuits, and had won several Grand Championships in Forms, Fighting and Weapons. At one tournament, he was approached by another young Martial Artist by the name of Robert Blackstone.  Robert was so impressed with GM Troy abilities that he asked him to come watch a Tae Kwon Do class in GM Kang Rhee’s, Memphis, TN In 1999.

GM Troy received his 7th Degree Black Belt and was named Chief master of Tae Sool Won from WKF/Korea Ki Do Association. In 1999, GM Troy found GM Timmerman, who had also been a part of WKSA, and began a friendship.  GM Timmerman began mentoring and training GM Troy in Kuk Sool Hapkido.  In 2005, GM Troy was one of the first to go thru GM Timmerman’s Band of Brothers LDT Training classes which was very traditional hard core training and also that year was tested and promoted to 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Sool Hap Ki Do.

In 2012, he was officially recognized as Founder and President of The World Tae Sool Won Association by the United states Martial Arts Association as 8th Degree Tae Sool Hapkido.  In 2014, GM Troy was promoted to 9th Degree Black Belt in TKD  by GM Kang H. Rhee.   GM Troy has been on ESPN, Oak Ridge Today and featured in many International magazines, including the cover of TKDT Magazine in July of 2011, Totally TKD Magazine in February of 2013, and TKDT Magazine in November of 2014.
